Why use Jute Aerial Panels

We decided that after many years of using what ever materials we were able to find and use for aerial targets that there must be a better way.    we know that all surveyors have good intentions to go remove their aerial targets after the flight.  Sometimes people get busy,  the flight gets delayed or maybe they forget.   Leaving plastic materials out in the environment is not a sustainable practice.   Leaving a sheet of plastic or Tyvek in the sun will allow it to breakdown and become smaller and smaller pieces, eventually becoming a micro plastic that is very difficult clean up from our world.

After many years of looking for an alternative and trying a few different materials, we were able to find something that might work.     Using these aerial targets in a number of aerial flight collection projects we have been able to prove that they are a great aerial target.   They are also made from natural fibers.

The use of a natural fiber is very beneficial.  The jute that we use in these aerial targets is a similar fiber that is used by thousands of contractors each year to provide hillside stabilization by placing a jute fabric mesh on the hillside, while allowing for the vegetation to grow and take hold through the fabric.

Our aerial panels are designed for the same use,   Set them in the environment and if you leave them in place you can know that you are not putting micro-plastics into the environment.   They will naturally degrade overtime and the grasses and other plants will slowly grow through the mesh.
